Magic Mind Reading Tricks
Remember when you were a kid; all the wonderful things we did and saw that allowed our dreams to flourish even though most of them were of the impossible. But as a kid, anything seems possible and the magic shows that were around at the time certainly helped promote that thinking and amazed us at the same time. Magic as a whole was so much fun, but to me, the best part of the magic show was when the magician did the magic mind reading tricks.
How the heck did he do that? How did he know what all those different people in the audience were thinking about, or when he asked someone to think of a number, he always knew what that number was. As a young kid, I just thought that was absolutely amazing and all that stuff defied logic as far as I was concerned; I believed it all and could never figure out how he did it.
Well, now that I'm not a kid anymore, I do have an idea of how a lot of those magic mind reading tricks were done, but a lot of them are still a mystery. Actually, that's a good thing, because it leaves a little room for fun and mystery and makes it so there is something to look forward to all the time.
So, now, if you'd like to include magic mind reading tricks in some of your own performances, there are several things that need to be taken care of and learned before you can do that.
Starting out now, most of these magic mind reading tricks do not use anything as heavy duty as real mind reading...sorry. Most likely, you will have to hire an assistant or have a good system that will allow you to "mind read" what is on the mind of the person you choose out of the audience. Most of all, you will need a great memory.
The biggest help of all would be to have a great stage presence that will keep your audience glued to your every word and move, and that way you can get away with all kinds of illusions because they won't expect what you're doing.
Be cool when on stage; cultivate a stage manner that is friendly with the folks, but not too friendly...and be honest and forthright in what you say...just not too honest. The best thing to do is to develop a flair for performance no matter what kind of trick you are doing, not just for the magic mind reading tricks; and also have in your repertoire a serious and pondering face when the trick calls for it.
So, this all boils down to the fact that you need to become a great actor and stage host. Get all this under your belt, and you can then get a good assistant to help you...somebody who is not going to laugh at the wrong time and give your trick away...and someone who will be of great help in your performance.
Then get on the stick and find a few good magic mind reading tricks that won't take you a long time to learn or be too difficult or taxing to perform. After all that, you are now ready for the limelight and seeing how well you do in front of a live audience.
