Good Magic Tricks

Remember how much fun those magic shows were when you were a kid? Where have all those good magicians gone? What is it today that has changed the way we look at magic shows and magicians in general? It seems the world today has lost some of its innocence and we are a lot more cynical as a whole than we used to be when good magic tricks were at their peak. We don't get the same enjoyment out of it because we tend to think on the negative side and think the whole act is just a con job and we feel something is being put over on us instead of just enjoying the show for what it is.

The public in general is no longer the naive little kids we once were who were starstruck by the act of pulling a coin from behind our ear, or making a paper flower pop up out of thin air. Almost all of us nowadays is jaded and cynical. We look for the hustle in every sale or every promotion and fear being taken by an unscrupulous salesman or marketing agent. Therefore, there is no fun or joy left in watching a magician do his magic tricks because we tend to analyze the performance instead of just reveling in it, and we don't want to look like a fool and be taken.

The good magic tricks are still out there and still being performed by magicians who still love the art form and want to inject a little joy into our lives. But the simple truth is that we have forgotten how to dream, left behind all those innocent pleasures that brought so much excitement, and we have lost the feeling of humility. We are consumed by our daily lives and the negativity and fear that occupies them and tend to dwell on that side of our existence instead of the joyful side.

The best place to start recouping all that good feeling and innocence and joy that has been shoved into the backgrounds of our lives, is to go to a magic show. The fun is still there waiting and it is time that we faced the music and started putting a little more fun into our lives and a little more belief that there is a lot of good in the world and to stop treating everything and everyone with suspicion. We have put off dreaming for too long because we have been afraid that the world is just not that way anymore, and we won't be able to realize them anyway, so why bother.

Unfortunately, this is the sad reality of today and we are imposing this dreary reality onto our children's lives as well; unless we take immediate action to keep from ruining their hopes and dreams as well. By incorporating a little magic and some good magic tricks into their lives, we can rekindle that feeling of awe and amazement at the world around them and the fun of magic.

So let's get back into the swing of including magic into our lives and those of our children by attending magic shows or watching magicians perform those good magic tricks. We know there is an atmosphere of suspended belief at these performances, but don't analyze the show, just enjoy it and sit back and watch as our children experience the same wonder and amazement that we did when we were kids, before we had become jaded and weary with the world.
