Good Card Tricks

If you have been fantasizing being a good magician and getting up in front of an audience and performing tricks for their pleasure and yours, a good way to bring this to fruition is to start with some good card tricks, because few of us have the time it takes to develop a repertoire of tricks and the time to practice them to become good enough to perform.

Good card tricks can get you on the band wagon and become part of the magic revolution happening today, while you don't have to expend a whole lot of time or energy learning them. I mean your heart may be in the right place, and you have every intention of working hard at the magic tricks and learn them completely; but by the time you get home from sweating away at a day of work and then all you have to do around the house and for the rest of the parts in your life that take up time every day, you don't have a whole lot of drive or time left at the end of the day to start practicing magic tricks.

That's where learning some good card tricks comes into play. To learn them is really easy and it doesn't take much time or effort to become really good at them, so after a little practice you can fulfill the need you have to perform magic tricks in front of an audience, willing or not.

But even good card tricks as easy as they may be, still need a lot of practice to do them correctly without blunders, or you will find yourself standing holding the bag in front of an audience when you can't remember what the next move is in your card trick and you are only in the middle of it.

Using a deck of playing cards is usually all you need to get started with good card tricks and you can make cards disappear or even get the audience involved by trying to outsmart you in remembering cards (you would be using memorization techniques) or something of the sort. But remember, good card tricks can encompass a lot more than that; and you won't have to memorize anything or shuffle the cards, or make cards disappear...these are all optional forms of good card tricks and you can bypass them if you think you would not be able to pull them off.

On the flip side of the coin, there are lots of good card tricks you can find out there that are very easy to do and learn and can be very unique without being run of the mill or old hat. Some of the best card tricks are the old tried and true ones and many of them cause more gasps and awestruck stares than the newer sleeker jobs being performed.

Regardless, it doesn't matter what card trick you are doing...good card tricks are identifiable by how long and hard the magician has worked and practiced to put the maximum effort into entertaining his audience; whether that be you or a professional magician, the audience knows and appreciates the hard work exerted into bringing the repertoire of tricks they are seeing to them, and they know good card tricks when they see them.

Develop that flair that will enthrall an audience and enhance your card tricks and you are well on your way to success. Good card tricks may be the backbone of your act, but if they are done mechanically or without a little bit of panache, then they will suffer and the audience will not enjoy watching what you are doing. The presentation of the act and the tricks is the key to a good performance, and that little bit of flair will carry you a long way into the appreciative hearts of your audience.
